The CureDuchenne Clinic Relocates in Greater Dallas to Meet Rising Demand for Specialized Neuromuscular Care

Expanded Facility Delivers Comprehensive, Multidisciplinary Care, Removing Barriers for Patients with Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophy

DALLAS – February 20, 2026 – CureDuchenne, a global leader in advancing research and improving patient care for individuals with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, today celebrated the relocation and expansion of The CureDuchenne Clinic within the Neurology & Neuromuscular Care Center in Flower Mound, Texas. The clinic originally opened in 2023 in Denton, Texas, to provide high quality care for patients living with Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy from childhood through adulthood. Due to overwhelming demand, the clinic has moved into a larger space to better meet the increasing needs of the patient community.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a progressive, muscle-wasting disease in children, affecting 15,000 individuals in the United States. While there is not yet a cure for Duchenne, comprehensive care from an experienced, multidisciplinary healthcare team is essential to manage the unique needs of an individual living with the disease. Because of the complexity of the disease, patients and caregivers traditionally must navigate significant hurdles to obtain quality care. Insurance coverage, or lack thereof, is one of the most significant limiting factors for patients to access care and Texas has the highest percentage of uninsured residents in the nation.

The CureDuchenne Clinic at the Neurology & Neuromuscular Care Center, led by Dr. Diana Castro, provides neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, nutrition, physical therapy, durable medical equipment, and diagnostics for both pediatric and adult Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy patients. Services are available in English and Spanish, for insured and uninsured patients.

Currently, the clinic serves 389 patients, 49.5 percent of whom are from minority communities, and 56 percent are uninsured or underinsured. The new location will allow the clinic to serve more patients while continuing its mission to never deny care due to lack of insurance.

“When families come to us, they’re often overwhelmed and searching for answers,” said Dr. Diana Castro, Board-Certified Neurologist and Neuromuscular Physician and Founder of the Neurology & Neuromuscular Care Center. “This expanded space allows us to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care under one roof, so families don’t have to navigate Duchenne alone. With CureDuchenne’s partnership, we can ensure that every family receives the expertise and compassion they deserve.”

“For families facing Duchenne, access to truly expert care can change everything,” said Debra Miller, founder and CEO of CureDuchenne. “Dr. Diana Castro is a nationally respected neuromuscular specialist whose leadership and dedication to this community are extraordinary. This expanded facility reflects our shared commitment not only to accelerating treatments, but to redefining what comprehensive, compassionate care should look like.”

To meet continued growth in patient demand, the clinic is actively seeking to hire an additional neuromuscular physician. CureDuchenne also encourages community support and donations to help fund expanded patient care services.
